The IT department offers a service called “Blog”. This is a multisite WordPress installation, installed on a Linux server (Redhat Enterprise Linux 6). The “Blog” service is available for all students and staff who would like to publish information on the web. The “Blog” should have University of Bergen relevance. If one want to have a private blog, one should consider commercial variants like WordPress.com or Blogspot. There are many other available as well. We will upgrade the system from version 3.5 to 3.7. In addition there will be 36 plugins and 13 themes that also will be upgraded. See detailed list below. Header images has a tendency to disappear when this theme is upgraded. We will have to do a manual job after the upgrade. That means it might take some time before the pictures are back again. If one experience that the pictures are missing, it is not necessary to report this. We will start with this job right after the upgrade, and will continue during the day. We might also continue some of this work in week 51.
All in one event calendar plugin
Blogs that use the All-in-one-event-calendar plugin, will experience that some of the styling will break. These are small details. References to Google maps in an event will disappear. The solution to this is simple:
You have to change one of the color coded under 'Theme Options' and press 'Save Options'. After this you can change back again, and finally press the 'Save Options'.
